Show TEX RICKARD GETSjrOBBIED 1 RENO, Nev.. June 27. Promoter Rlckard was greaMy worried tonight by the receipt of a telegram from a , Chicago newspaper man stating that ! it was rumored there that the fight would positively be called off. "Got busy," concluded the message and Rlckard inferred that tho rumor had been taken seriously and would be published broadcast "There Is absoluetly no truth In this new rumor of stare Interference." Rlckard stated to the Associated Press "I have the personal assurance of Governor Dickerson that he 1U not interfere. I can't imagine how such a report could have reached Chicago. I know it is not true but I am afraid the constant repetition of such ru- , mors will prevent many visitors from coming out" I Rlckard promptly communicated the Chicago mossage to many of the newspaper correspondents here and assured by them that the news of the revival of the Interference rumor sas as great a surprise to them as it was to him. 1 Governor Diekerson is expected here from Ely tomorrow. |
