They plan to sail unaided aronnd the world, louodlng Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. A year ago they built the boat and trkd It out In ;t Ion,? coastwise cruise to Halifax. X. S. and tu Old Point Comfort. They are off to see the world. The Julia and Mary U 3.1 feel, i eight inches ovetall. seven feet three inches beam and four feet six Inches deep Forward there are two airtight air-tight compartments and she Is sheathed sheath-ed throughout with copper. She carries a centerhoard. a full kit of tools and extra spars and sails The boys plan to sail south flrat, cruising along the coast and through the Carl-bean Carl-bean sea to the Isthmus of Panama. Then they will continue around South America, through the Straits of Magellan. Ma-gellan. After reaching-Panama, they --will run for San Francisco, then to Seattle nnd Victoria. There they will fit out to cross the Pacific to Japan. Then smith again, stopping at Singapore, Hongkong nud Manila. Thence to Australia and the east coast of Africa, Afri-ca, skirting the shore to Capetown They plan to go to Paris and London on their return, thence to Queeustown and back to New Y'ork. |
