Show CEREAL FACTORY M A Y LOCATE ifj OGDEN Business men, numhering about oil, met with the Ogden Chamber of Commerce Com-merce In the commissioners' room at the County building la.U night to discuss dis-cuss plans for the removal of the Ce-reo Ce-reo Manufacturing company from Io-gau Io-gau to this city. President F. A. Nenburger of tho Logan company was present, and explained ex-plained that Ogden, being one of the best railroad centers In the west, making mak-ing it an admirable manufacturing center, he desired to move the factory to this point If lie Is given support from the business men of the com- , munity. Most of those present expressed themselves as favoring the project, pro-ject, aud a committee was appointed to take tho matter up with tho We-1 ber club at once, to see If the $33,000 additional stock which Is necessary before the factory will chauge its quarters quar-ters can be raised. Another committee commit-tee was appointed to arrange for a practical demonstration of tho roffee substitute at. one of the retail stoics of Ogden, so that the efficacy of the product can be given a practical test. President NeubJiger says that the factory at Logan has n capacity of 4S00ii pounds of Ccreo a month, hut that if it Is transferred to Ogden the factory will be enlarged to almost double Its present capacity. The company com-pany is Incorporated for $200,000, there beins ISS.000 shares of the stock now for salo at $1 a share. From the present outlook, and ftom expressions of the business men attending at-tending the meeting last night. i- Is probable that arrangements will be made to take up the $35,000 additional stock which will be necessary before the plant will be moved to Ogden. The committee appointed to confer with the Weber club is composed of Mayor William Glasmann. Dr. A. S. Condon and F. A. Neuburger. The committee in charge of the demonstration demonstra-tion project is S S. Smith, J. J. Brum mitt and I. F. Thomas. The removal of a plant of this kind to Ogden would be an acquisition of no small magnitude, as la evidenced by the remarkable benefits and growth experienced by the town of Battle Creek, Michigan, which before the introduction in-troduction there of cereal manufactories, manufac-tories, was struggling for existence. |
