Show AN OWL CAUGHT SIX HUNDRED HUN-DRED MILES FROM SHORE. The chief officer of the P.. M. S. He.v perlon. an Allan liner, bound from Montreal to Glasgow when four nn 1 a half days out, in latitude 3 l.l!7 north and 42.31 west, saw a strange blnj alight, or try to do so, on the main- mast It flew from there to the stern of the ship and lit on the flagpole, and from there to the forecastle starboard star-board lifeboat, from which It was cap-lured cap-lured by the steward. The bird Is a rarity, being an Arctic or snow owl, and wus caught six hundred miles from nearest land. It is a magnificent white bird, with the exception of tho wings, which are dotted with brown spots. It was remarkable, being a land bird, that It should be so far from It s own realms, but no doubr.
