For the Hrst time In the history of Ogden, the Grand Army veterans are teday being taken to the cemetery in automobiles The feeling that a few boi:juets should be thrown to the living wbllp the graves of the dead are being profusely decorated has become universal and In every part of the country the veterans are being conveyed con-veyed to the cemetery. Man of the surviving heroes are not strong enough en-ough to march on foot In a parade of many blocks, and so they have l.cea !he guests of others In automobiles. Not only are the veterans of the Civil War being honored today, but all the soldiers who frmght for the preservation pre-servation of the nation's honor, whether wheth-er on land or 6ea, are being remembered. remem-bered. Thosp who fought the battles of the nations upon the seas and who lie In watery graves are remembered In Ogden today by scattering flowers upon the waters ef Oeden river, the stream being literally rilled with roses and other flowers. During the entire day the cemeteries of the city-have been crowded with people decorating the graves, and It Is thought that not a single grave has failed to reeeivn at least a flower. The decorations In most Instances arc more profuse than In past years. The city flower beds and hot houses were taxed to capacity to supply the demand de-mand for flowers and from early morning morn-ing n constant stream of people In vehicles aDd on foot has visited the city of the dead At the city hall grounds this rnorn-, Ing at 10 o'clock were assembled the Orand Army men. Before falling In line of parade the automobiles, headed by Mayor Glas-maun, Glas-maun, driving his own machine, conveyed con-veyed the veterans around the cltv, joining the parade at the Intersection of Washington avenue and Twenty-fourth Twenty-fourth street. Reassemble at City Hall and go to Mountain View cemetery. 2 '30 p. m. Services at Mountain View Cemetery by the Women's Re lief Corps and Ladles of the Grand Army. 4:00 p. m.
