It U true that simple food costs a lot of money todny. I have Jut returned home from a family gathering where there were gathered together representatives from various states and cities and towns. It seonm to me that nothing was so marked in the family talk as the various reports re-ports on the cost of living. Butter and eggs and meat and other things have gone up and up everywhere. I am not ft 'Fletebcrite,' however, I am merely an ordinary person trying to adJ iBt myself to the rapidly increasing increas-ing price of food. In so doing I am conscious of only ono thing an overwhelming over-whelming desire to make the best of things as they are and to continue J happy and contented. This does not mean that I do not feel that things are wrong. I do. If I didn't. I should not take the trouble to speak up in a discussion which I hope will keep up." |
