Show M STYLE POSTCARD RECEIVED IN CITY Ogden's patrons of Uncle Sam's postoffice will soon bo able to secure se-cure tho latest pattern of postcards Issued by the government. At present pres-ent the office Is using the old Mc-Kinley Mc-Kinley card, but in a short time, If the patrons want the new cards, they can be secured by special request. The new card will be 3 1-4x5 1-2 inches in fIzo on a light blue paper printed in a bronze blue Ink. The stamp on the card 1 an ellipse on end aud coutalns a profile portrait of William Mclvlnley looking to the left with a background of horizontal lines with a border bearing the fol-lowing fol-lowing words: "V. S. Post Card. One Cent, McKinley," and on olther side of the portrait, within the border, the numeral "I." The inscription. "Thl6 bide of card is for address only," appears ap-pears in outline, Gothic type, within a horizontal panel of double lines, above the middle of the card, on a line with the bottom of tho stamp. The card will b known as "No. 1 ' and will gradually replace those now In use. A large consignment of cards has tten received here for use in the poptoffice, and a part of the confign-went confign-went consists of the new type of card. Just when they will be placed on sale depends upon the disposal of the old cards. Persons desiring the new card, however, may obtain them upoa tpecial request when buying the cards at tho tamp window at the poetoftice, probably at tho end of the week. |
