Show DIES AWAY FROM HOME AND FRIENDS Identity of Woman Is Shrouded in Mystery; Refused to Talk. Salt Lake. March A. Lying in the morgue at the Evans undertaking rooms on North State street i3 tho tody of a woman, 30 years old. known as Mrs. Mary Griffith, who died at St. Marie's hospital Tuesday. As yet no relative or friend of tho dead woman wo-man has been loeated. About a week ago Ensign Pitts of the Salvation Army discovered the woman seriously ill in a room at s East Fourth South street. The' attention atten-tion of the Associated Charities was called to the case, and the woman removed re-moved to the hospital. Hefore dying she stated that In her trunks would be found $10,000 worth of jewelry. The coroner was notified of the case, and although the trunks were located, there was nothing but a box of ten-cent Jewelry found. There was a varied assortment of papers, from which it was learned that she had been married In Pennsylvania. The papers will be searched more carefully today, in an attempt to learn something further about the woman. The truth that she must die was not withheld from her, and she made the statement that all she wanted done with her body was to have it burled and a plain wooden slab raised over it. She told nothing of her past history , nor of any relatives. i |
