Show NEARLY KILLED BY FUMES OF INSECT EXTERMINATOR New York, March 4. Fumes of an insect exterminator, the basis of which was said by the usors to bo formaldehyde, formalde-hyde, but which tho police say was prussic acid, almost caused the death of two young womon in Harlem last night and killed a family dog. Tho disinfectant dis-infectant was being usod in an apartment apart-ment below one occupied by the family fam-ily of W. D. Higglns in West 146th street. Ruth Htggins, who is an invalid, in-valid, suddenly fainted without apparent appar-ent cause and a moment later her sister sis-ter Reglna became ill and called in a neighbor. In the meantime tho dog expired. Police investigation revealed that an extermination of vermin was going on In tho flat bolow and tho fumes were going through tho celling. |
