Show COLONISTS BY TRAIN LOADS THEY ARE RUSHING THROUGH OGDEN BY HUNDREDS. Union Pacific Passenger Train No. 3 Has Nearly 400 Homeseekers Aboard 25 For Ogden. The colonist rush westward has ctarted in heavier than ever before at this season, and last evening, in order to relieve the congestion of homeseekers homeseek-ers at the Union passenger depot in this city, two sections of No. 9 were sent northover the Oregon Short Lino to accommodate the rush In that dl- rectlon. Today Union Pacific passenger train No. 3 from the east was six hours late, and had on board nearly four hundred colonists, twenty-five of which were ticketed to Ogden, forty-fceven forty-fceven for points south of this city, and the others went through to California Cali-fornia on the Southern Pacific. On the Rio Grande system, there were four sections of No. 5 this afternoon, af-ternoon, and two sections or No. 1. and these six trains are said to have had nearly five hundred colonists on board for points on the Oregon Short Line and on the Oregon Railway & Navigation Navi-gation company lines. |
