Show COAST LEAGUE MAY OFFER TEAM BONUS SAN FRANCISCO. Nov. 7 Directors Direct-ors of the Pacific Coast baseball league meet here November 15 to lay plans for the 1923 season. Representatives Represen-tatives will attend from San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Oakland. Seattle, Vernon. Los Angeles. Portland. Sacramento and Salt Lake J. Cal Ewlng. one of the owners of the Oakland club. Is to put before the directors a proposal to limit each team to 14 players of major or Class A a experience and to sl playi rl who have not played In minor leagues before Ewlng says ho lias enough voles to secure se-cure adoption of the plan. Critics of Ewlng's proposal say that adoption of It would make the Coast leagu Class AA In name only. Those supporting the plan laini it would mean a big saving for the clubs. The suggestion, it Is said, may result re-sult In a compromise which would limit lim-it the clubs to 18 experienced players play-ers and two rocrutis. Tho directors also will take up the question of giving the play rs on the leading teams a bonus, such as was done this year. Ewlng. It is believed, will continue his objections to this move and one dissenting vote Will kill the move. Under the plan, each club contributes $2,600 toward tho bonus.
