Six (t"i days shall constitute a week's j work, except when 1 bollday occurs, then fivo days shall constitute tho week's work. Wanes. II Independent workers, working alone, or with an apprentice or bench 1 1 hand, shall receive not less than 1 1 per week. I Foremen working with two or mor bench or mac him- hands, shall receive not less than $82 per week. Bench or machine hands shall re- I ceive not less than $ J r, per week. I Steady oven men Shall receive not I less than $;:o pei week. Partial oven men (those working j four hours or morei shall receive not I less than $26.50 per week. Dough mixers shall receive not less ' than $28 per week. Bench or machir.e jobbers shall 1 e-I e-I Oeive not less than $5 per day Foremen, mixers and ovenmen, job-! job-! bers. shall receive not less than $0 per day. Apprentices shall be paid at the rate of $7 pei week for the first year, $11 j per week for the second year, $11 per week for the third year, and $17 per week for the fourth year. Not more than two hours per week shall be worked overtime. Ul overtime .-diali be paid at the rate of time and one-half. Every employer shall pay promptly and in full at the expiration of the week's work. Holidays. The holidays under this agreement shall be: New Years, July Fourth, Labor Hay. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Decoration Day. Discipline. Any employe leaving his position shall give one (1) week's notice, or provide for a man to fill said vacancy. Employers shall give one (1) week's notice before discharging any employe. em-ploye. Steady men or jobbers failing to appear at the designated shop, after having accepted a Job through the offices of-fices of the union, shall be fined the sum of $10.- All bakery worker employed shall be memberB In Rood standing of Local I'nion No loS. Not more than one (It apprentice shall be employed to each shift In machine shops. Not more than two (2) apprentices shall he employed to each shift In hand shops. Sanitation. All bakery establishments must be clean and sanitary throughout, baking bak-ing equipment Included All bakery workers in said establishments must maintain their personal cleanliness All firms shall provide and maintain for the use and ronvenienep of their employes sanitary dressing rooms, toilets, wash rooms and clothes lookers. Label Clause. Providing that the employer strictly strict-ly adheres to the sections in this agreement, he or they shall have the privilege of buying and using what i known as the Union Isabel of the Bakery Bak-ery and Confectionery Workers' International In-ternational Union of Amerlea, and the union reserves tho right to advertise and agitato for said label whether tbe employer uses the same or not. Said labels can be had only at the office of Local No 138, at ten (10) cents per thousand for plain labels and twelve and one-half (12 1-2) cents per thousand or combination labels. In case the employer violates any of the sections In this agreement Local Union .o. 138 reserves the right to withdraw the label and refund the money for the same. All baking shall be done between six (6) o'clock in the morning and eight (Si o'clock at night. Married men shall receive not less than two loaves of bread dally. Cake Shops. Cake and confectionery foremen shall recehe not less than $32 per week. Second caker shall receive not less then $26 per week. Proprietors agree to employ only members of i,ocai ns, or those wilt j Ing to make application for member- j j ship. It is required that three copies of 1 this agreement be signed by each party, une to be retained by the em- ployer, one by the union and one to 1 be posted in a conspicuous place In the shop. All charges must be referred by the foreman at the regular meeting of the union Should any difficult; arise, the executive ex-ecutive board shall settle the matter satisfactorily to both parties. |
