GRAIN FORECAST ! MUCH DECREASED Wheat 483,617,000 Bushels, Rye 75,481,000 Last Year 731,636,000 and 88,478,000 WASHINGTON. April S Production Produc-tion of winter wheat this year was forecast today at IS7.G1 7,000 bufihH3 and rye 75.S41.000 bushels by tho department de-partment of agriculture which based its estimate on the acreage planted last December, allowing for average acreage abandoned and assuming average av-erage influences until harvest. Conditions of winter wheal April 1 was 75.6 and rye 8G.S per cent ot a normal. Winter wheat production last year was 731.G3G.000 bushels and the previous prev-ious year 565,099,000 bushels. Rye production pro-duction last year was SS.I7S.000 bushels bush-els and the previous year 91,041.000 bushels. ' , Condition of winter wheat a year ago was 99. S per cent of a normal two years ago, 7S.6 and the April 1 average for the last ten years was S-J.l per cent. - Condition of rye a year ago was 90.6 ,per. cent of a normal, two years ago j 85.S and In" len year average S9.0.
