Show i Annual Festivities Under Rehearsal Re-hearsal at the Local State Institution What is said to be the most wonderful, won-derful, pageant of its kind to be presented pre-sented in Ogden is to form part of tho annual program of the commencement exercises of the State School for the Deaf and Blind here on Friday, May .21. The pageant is entitled tho "Story ol the Deaf" and deals in tableaux iorm of the history of the leaching ot the deaf and dumb from the earliest days of Interest in the subject to the .present time. The pageant is complete com-plete in a prologue, and five "episodes." "epi-sodes." The prologue tells the story of the five senses and their instrumentality in the acquisition of knowledge. Then follows a recountal of Greek interest in the subject, the efforts of early Christian communities in alleviating the sufferings of the deaf, their lot in Spain, in France, and lastly, in the United States. Rehearsals of the pageant arc now actively in progress. The performance will be givon in Ogden on tho south lawn of the, school for the deaf and blind, Friday, May 21, at 5:80 p. m. Wednesday, May 2C, it will be produced in Salt Lake at Libert ypark. |
