Show ilGilES ARHJVEJN City Will Be Here Two Days With Full Programs of Entertainment The "Roving Marines," a traveling party of 65 men from Mare Island, were greeted this morning on their arrival from Boise by Captain Pierce, commander of uio intermountain recruiting re-cruiting district, and Immediately be-!gan be-!gan a program of entertainment with the intent of attracting the Interest ot I young men in the activities of the marine corpi. Headed by a hand of 1 31 pieces under Bandmaster Harry Cunningham, the party paraded up Twenty-fityh street and along Wash ington avenue at noon and at s o'clock a concert was to be given at I city hall park. Captain Charles Brooks is in command. . A vaudeville program of ton acts will be given at o'clock this evening at the Ilex theatre on Twcntyflfth street to which the public is invited. Among the actors will be Jimmy Carey, woman impersonator; Corp. Harvey Davis.'' the Billy Sunday of the marine corps; the marine quartet; saxophone quii-.et; Corp. Louis Clifford Clif-ford as a Jewish politician; W. D. Manca, the "Harmonious Nut;" Corp. j Arthur Vaughn,- whirlwind acrobat; ' ' Sergeant Jack Mclarland, a brother to Packcy and Tommy McFarland, who as boxing instructor of the marines will put on a couple of short bouts. A program of events is also arranged I for tomorrow. |
