Show WIRELESS TELEPHONE TO FIGHT FOIST FIRES SOU Predictions that wireless will be used extensively throughout the forests for-ests of the Fourth forest service district, dis-trict, were mado today by R. B. Adams, Ad-ams, telephone engineer for tho forest service. 'During the past season," Mr. Adams Ad-ams stated, "the use of the wireless telephones in district No. 1 in Montana, Mon-tana, demonstrated the value of the device as a means of communicating between points separated by natural barriers such as mountains. As a means of imparting information regard re-gard forest fires, the wireless is highly high-ly useful." Mr. Adams gave illustrations of how the wireless telephones would bo installed. in-stalled. "Whore mountains or other obstruc-tiona obstruc-tiona are of a nature that makes stringing of telephone wiros difficult tho wireless will be installed. Prob-ably Prob-ably tho range of the telephone will bo between 10 and 50 miles, but ,at tho terminals of tho wireless lines, branch telephpne lines will bo installed."
