Show Attempt is Made to Set Fire to Ogden Tabernacle Fire fiends endeavored to destroy the Ogden tabernacle last night but ih'-ir efforts proved futile through, the alertncsB of Gilbert Torgeson, of .14 I Twenty-first street, who turned in an alarm after seeing th flames The fire department was ru.shed to the scene, but there was no damage iother than the charring of the norlh weal rear door The alarm was sent into the fire station at 8:50 o'clock. 1 A quantity of oil saturated waste found under the northwest door, i I according to Sergeant of Police A. B. Jt Dsen and members of ihe fire depart-I depart-I ment who investigated the fire Th wooden door, according to police officials, offi-cials, was soaked with kerosene The quick work of Mr. Torgeson saved the tabernacle The oiled waste together with the condition of the floor would have started the fire on its way to the interior After the alarm had been turned in, Mr. Torgeson ran across ihe .street from hK home but was unable to locale lo-cale anyone fleeing from the tabernacle taber-nacle yard.
