Show ! DEATH OF JOHN C. HUTCHENS. Fr nearly twenty years John C. Hutchcns, in even stride, covered his beat in Ogden. Today there will be grief among the many fiiends I he made during his long and faithful public service, for John Hutchens will be seen no more in the uniform of a policeman. He died suddenly this morning. Mr. Hutchens spoke softly, yet he was resolute and vigorous when duty demanded. He kept away from the political scheming which marked the many changes in administration during his long service for the city and held strictly to his work. He had his likes and dislikes, but as an officer drew no prejudicial line. There is no more worthy servant of the public than an officer of the law who maintains the dignity of his position and John Hutchens was that kind of a man. May he find the peace and quiet he labored so long to uphold. |
