Show Petain Decorates 28th Infantry of U. S. First Division WITH THE AMERICAN' FORCES I IN GERMANY. July 28 (Correspondence (Correspond-ence of the Associated Press.) Decorations Deco-rations bestowed recently upon the1 Twenty-eighth infantry. American officers say they belleve.it I quite probable that authority for the unit to wear the shoulder cord will be forthcoming from Washington in the near future. All infantry regiments of the First J division have now received the Croix : de Guerre with palm, the Sixteenth and the Twenty sixth infantry being decorated this week at ceremonies in Coblenz. The Eighteenth infantry re-j ceived the award some time ago. The Tenlh. Eighteenth and Seventy-1 sixth field artillery regiment of the Third division also received from Mar shal Petain collective citations amount-Ing amount-Ing to the decoration of the colors of those regiments with the Croix de Guerre wiih qc.ld star. The regimental regiment-al colors were not available for the occasion oc-casion as they had not been brought h back from Paris where they were iu-ed " in the victor) parade on July 14.
