Aug. 11 -Two hard' foughl four-set matches comprised the play in the opening round of the Na-1 tional Lawn Tennis doubles champion , ship tournament on the Chestnut Hill courts of the Longwood Crickett club I today. The winners were R. Norris Williams, II, of Boston, and Watson M.I Washburn of New York, holders of thei New England title and Maurice E. Me-Laughlin Me-Laughlin and T C Bundy, both of Los Angeles, Pacific coast champions. McLaughlin and Bundy defeated another an-other California pair, Willis Davis and II.
