Show PRAGUE Opposition Against Archduke Leading Government. PRAGUE. Monday. Aug. 11 Large but orderly demonstrations occurred here today, being led generally by the Social-Deraocratic element in protest against the coup d'etat by which Archduke Arch-duke Joseph became the head ot tho Hungarian government. At the beginning of the Rumanian invasion of Hungary the more conservative conser-vative elements of Csecholovakla were insistent that a Czech Iruiy advance ad-vance immediately into Hungary to protect their interests. President T. G. Masary k and members of his ministry minis-try opposed such a movement declaring declar-ing that they desired to co-ordinate with the great powers and do not Wish to participate in an invasion Which was in violation of the armistice. Fears are expressed that the reactionary reac-tionary element in Vienna will soon join forces with those back of Archduke Arch-duke Joseph and will amalgamate tho Austrian and Hungarian states into an autocratic government which will become the center of autocratic pro- aiauuuu iu cuuinu tairope. 11 js nop'u by Czecho-Slovakian officials that the United States will prevent the new regime re-gime from succeeding. No Czecho-Slo-; vakian official believes that Archduke 1 Joseph, a Hapsburg, any more represents repre-sents the true sentiment of the Hungarian Hun-garian common than did Bela Kun. Thov say that both governments were based on "terrorism and in opposition to the aspirations of the common peo-,ple peo-,ple through central Europi " Today's demonstrations make it necessary nec-essary for the government to make some declaration and the sentiment of a large number of officials are epitomized epitom-ized above. Czecho-Slovaks are cheered by the noto from the peace conference to th Rumanians on August 7, inquiring whether the Rumanians had "decided to disassociate themselves from the allies." A strong feeling exists that the relationship between tho Hohen-sollerns Hohen-sollerns and the iiapsburgs Is in some way connected with the present Hohenxollern occupant of the Rumanian Ruma-nian throne, King Ferdinand, and the lati t developments in Hungary As a result of today's demonstrations, demonstra-tions, the Social Democrats seem inclined in-clined to SUpporJ an Invasion Of Hungary Hun-gary at once with a view of overthrow - I ing the government headed by Arch- duke Joseph.
