"If .uch an idea was worked up 10 the proper spirit by the police department. de-partment. th' people of Ogden could, make it so hot for 'firebugs' that thy would not need fire next winter. The police department could get every" one so interested that it would be almost Impossible for a man to step off th? street, suspiciously, without some pair of eyes being upon him. "Every ue should be required to show cause for his actions and, upon the slightest provocation, guards ought to open 1 1 r Give ihesp persons a lea sun nr i wo with shot and it would be surprising what a soothing effect It will have. "Sueh type of persons as have been t rron.ing Ogden are cowards of the worst sort. If they have the slightest idea that you are ready for them, they will never show themselves Ogden has got to get busy, not just the police po-lice lorce. Warn everyone to have business, if h' is out at late hours of the night, and that If he i , caught on the property of others he will be se-i se-i ously dealt with. Some of the policemen in Ogden seem to think that a policeman is just available After S crime has been committed com-mitted and should be called only tj chase and hunt for someone who had already committed a crime. They should be trained to observe things that lf,ad to trouble. |
