Show PATRICK RILE! IS TO OE BUH1ED 01 WEDKSDIY Funeral services will bo conducted over the body of Patrick Hanley, 102 years old, who died yesterday at the home of his only daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Saville. proprietress of the Saville hotel, 2146 Grant avenue, at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Services will be held at St. Joseph, Catholic, church. Burial will take place in the Mountain View cemetery. The body will lie In state at tho Saville hotel until 9 o'clock tomorrow morning, where it may be viewed by former friends of the deceased and friends of the family. Mr. Hanley was probably the oldest man in Utah at the time of his death. He would have been 102 years old next march. Ho was a native of Ireland, Ire-land, having been born in County Mcath, and was possessed of those genial and lovable traits of character and disposition that arc the na,tivo heritages of Erin's sons. Ho came to the United States when ' a young man more than three quarters of a century ago and during that period he met and held hundreds of friendship friend-ship only to see them pass on into the Great Beyond while he remained to associate with the growing generations. genera-tions. Mrs. Hanley died more than a half century ago. For a long time Mr. Hanley farmed in Nebraska. It is thought that the rugged open air activities of tho Ne-braskan Ne-braskan was one of the causes of his long life. Since removing from Nebraska, Ne-braska, thirteen years ago, ho has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Saville. He is survived by five children chil-dren four sons and a d,iughter. He also is survived by nine grand children chil-dren and five great grandchildren. |
