Show PRAISE FOR THE YJ.C.I1, II I BRIGHAM CITY, Nov. 28. In appreciation ap-preciation of tho recent natlonwldo campaign for the soldiers welfare fund, a Brigham soldier stationed at Camp Kearny, Cal., writes the following follow-ing letter to a friend in this city: "I was very glad to hear from you and was overjoyed at the interest people peo-ple at home are taking in tho Y. M. C. A. It surely is a Godsend to have those buildings here whore wc can see picture shows, plays, music and hear very good lectures. "The Y. M. C. A. Is also sending thousands of . good reading books into the tonts of the men. ThoBe books aro given to tho men on application, for a short period of ton or twolve days, then they can return them and get others. "Tho stories we hear from across the water have nothing but praiso for tho Y. M. C. A. When the men come In from tho trenches, wet and cold, the warm building and warm soup or coffeet they get from the Y. M. C. A. warms thoir bodies, and the entertainments, jesting and lectures cheer their spirits and makes them forget tho horrors thoy have just passod through, and when the call to go out comes again they go with rejuvenated rejuv-enated spirits." |
