Show LOCAL PLSCES OF 1USEIIT Thanksgiving day is being observed in Ogden in many ways today. The morning was taken up with attend-; ance at the special services conducted I in the churches of the city. On the j business streets everything had the appearance of Sunday. Not a place of j business was open and there were but few people on the streets. For entertainment, the motion picture pic-ture theaters are offering special pro-l pro-l grams and the week's vaudeville pro-I pro-I gram, headlined by "Oh, You Devil," I and with several other good acts, opens today. As. a special attraction, ! there will be a dancing matinee at the Berthana this, aftornoon from 4 to 7 oclock. At the Cozy theater, Gladys Hulette opens today in a delightful comedy-drama comedy-drama entitled, "Streets of Illusion," which is in five parts. There is also another feature on the bill. At the Lyceum Millie King is to be seen in a most interesting serial, "The Mystery of the Double Cross. "The Web," featuring Cleo Madison, is also shown. The Ogden theater is presenting George Walsh, that close rival of Douglas Fairbanks in hairbreadth stunts in a most delightful and exciting excit-ing picture entitled "Tho Yankee Way." There is also a reel of tho Hearst-Pathe News, showing world events. Manager Film, of the. new Utah theater offers a pleasing picture with Viola Dana In the leading role. The picture is entitled "Lady Barnacle." There is also a comedy -drama on the same bill. Norma Talmadgo is "Scandal," a' stirring story, is to be seen at the Al-hambra. Al-hambra. There is also a Sennett comedy com-edy entitled "An International Sneak," which will vie with the feature picture for honors as to entertainment. In the evening, there are dances in most of the ward amusement halls in tho city as well as special dances at the Eagles' home on Grant avenue, at the K. of P. hall on the same street and at other places in the city. Of course, the special Thanksgiving dinner is a feature in the homes of the city, to occur this afternoon. The restaurants and cafes are offering special menus for those unfortunate enough to have no homes at which to eat. |
