Show ARTHUR DUFFIN, OGDEN 10Y, IS j BY MARINES AT CHATEAU THIERRY r A telegram was received Tuesday by Miss Irono Duffin, 429 Twenty-sixth Twenty-sixth street, from Major General Bar-nett, Bar-nett, commanding officer of tho Unltod States marines, announcing hat her brother, Arthur Duffin, was killed In aotion on July 17. The delay in receiving news of this death is not explained. The boy was apparently killed on the first day of the fighting on the Marno,twhen the German offensive was stopped. Tho marines -were in the great battlo northwest north-west of Chateau Thierry. Young Duffin enlisted in the marines ma-rines in January, 1917, several months before war was declared, and went overseas somo time in the fall. |
