Show uu PIONEER WOMAN DIES AT THE AGE OF 73 SPANISH FORK. Jan. IS. Mrs. Mary Williams Davis, a handcart pioneer, pio-neer, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Evans, after aft-er an illness of several weeks from a partial paralytic stroke. Mrs. Davis was born in Lanelly, South Wales, in 1S-14. She emigrated to Utah In 1S5G, with the handcart company of which Captain Dan Jones was in charge. She lived for a while in Cache valley, coming com-ing to Spanish Fork in 1S58, -where she continued to live until her demise. She was the widow of David Davis, whose death occurred In 1902, Mrs. Davis is survived by three sons David and William, both of. this city, and John Davis of Mammoth, and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Evans of Spanish Span-ish Fork and Mrs. George Fall of Preston, Pres-ton, Idaho. A large number of grandchildren grand-children also survive. " |
