Leo Tausig, who recently was taken off the train hero by Officer Peler Naylin after an unsuccessful attempt at suicide and returned this week to LIvermore, Cal., became violently un. ruly en route. According to Deputy Sheriff R, H. Soule, who, with a nurse, accompanied the young man to Livermore, he became be-came almost unmanageable a short distance out of Ogden. In addition to staging a terrific physical battle", requiring re-quiring the combined efforts of the officer and nurse to quiet him, ho kicked out a car window and otherwise other-wise created a rough house. Deputy Sheriff Soule returned this morning. The patient was of wealthy family and was placed in a private sanitarium at Livermore. His home, it is stated, is San Antonio, Texas, and it is believed that illness and a quickly change from a low to a high altitude affected his mind. In addition addi-tion to his attempt to stab himself to death immediately before reaching Ogden, he attempted to plunge through a window at the county jail and required re-quired almost constant attendance to prevent serious injury to himself. nn |
