Show I GOHH Paul Beemer, city passenger agent for the Union Pacific, received a large consignment of thrift stamps and'war savings certificates, today,- for sale to Union Pacific employes and the general gen-eral public. "By special arrangements," said Mr. Beemer, "the Union Pacific has placed thrift stamps and Avar saving certificates certifi-cates in every ticket and agent's office along tho entire system. The rlan is merely to co-operate with the government, govern-ment, the various city and county and state committees and the postoffice departments in giving every patriot an opportunity to invest." Suggestive of the enormous number num-ber of people which the ticket agents i j of the Union Pacific may reach, it is stated that that system has more than 1000 offices. K other railroad com-, panics are pursuing a similar plan, every place in tho United States where the general public can purchase a rail-1 road ticket, a thrift stamp or a war , savings certificate also may be pur- chased. |
