Show COLLEGE II IN TRAINING FOR 1R With 284 men already inducted into the collegiate section of tho Students' Army Training corps at the Utah Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, tho institution has practically filled its quota. But sixteen more men can bo received In this section sec-tion before the full 300 assigned to tho college have been secured. Men will have until October 30 to secure induction, induc-tion, but it is expected that some days before this date the quota will be filled. The closing date for induction into the vocational section of the S. A. T. C. has also been extended until October Octo-ber 30. In this section the college has been granted GOO men. Of these all but 200 havo been secured. In the vocational section special opportunities op-portunities exist for men with some past experience along mechanical lines to secure intensive training In their special fields. The demand for Instructors Instruc-tors Is also great in this section so that often men with considerable experience ex-perience are. almost immediately upon induction, advanced in military rank and made instructors, with a consequent conse-quent increase in pay. The college offers advantage to men who desire training as chauffeurs, auto mechanics, machinists, carpenters, horseshoers, blacksmiths, radio operators, opera-tors, wagoners, surveyors, topographical topograph-ical draughtsmen, and concrete work-' era. Men to be qualified for induction Into this work must be 19 years of age or over, and have a grammar school education or its equivalent. They must also be registrants of September 12 or in a deferred classification if registrants regis-trants of somo other date. A limited number of men may still secure induction induc-tion as telephone electricians. These men mu6t have seven and one half unite of high school work to their credit and be registrants of September 12 or In a deferred classification if registrants of a prior date. oo |
