Show Will Tour England, France and Italy to Meet Labor Leaders. WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 America's mission to tho British Trade's Union Congress which meets in London Sep-tember Sep-tember 17, 18 and 19, will be headed by Samuel Gompers, president of the American Federation of Labor, and IH will tour England, France and Italy to confer with labor leaders. IH Mr. Gompers loft Washington today IH for Now York for a series of confer-ences confer-ences there before sailing. Ho will be accompanied abroad by William J. Bowen, president of tho Internationa , Brick Layers' and Plasterers' Union, John T. Frey, president of the Inter- IH national Moulders Union, Edgar Wal- i lace, editor of the United Mine Work-crs' Work-crs' Journal, and C. L. Paine, president of tho International Boot and Shoe Workers' Union. Mr. Gompers con-ferred con-ferred yesterday with President Wil-son. Wil-son. Ho declined to discuss questions to be considered by the congress or the premier In visiting Franco and Italy. Socialism, he declared, would occupy no part in deliberations of the American delegates. He added there would bo no Socialist representation. |
