Show FISH CAIERHOFBIIT BY COf m WHICH WILL BE Fish canned in Utah by a company promoted by a successful Ogden manufacturer man-ufacturer is to bo placed on the market mar-ket by the first of the year. Tho UtAh Fish Canning company, with W. J. Parker, of Ogden, as manager mana-ger and treasurer, and incorporated for $75,000, has purchased a site nt Geneva, on Utah lake, ten miles north of Provo, and Monday work will start in a brick building 90x75 feet, which Is to be the first unit of a big fish packing pack-ing plant. Later on engine room and power plant will be constructed. This company will be supplied with fish from Utah lake, where two seining sein-ing crews, with gasoline launches will be employed during seven months of tho year. With forty-flvo employes, the company com-pany expects to turn out 500 cans of fish daily, which will require 20,000 pounds of fish from the lake. This will be the first fish packing plant in tho intermountain country. That there is an ample supply of material ma-terial In Utah lake Is said to have been demonstrated a j'ear ago when, in three days' seining, sixteen carloads car-loads of fish were loaded for the eastern east-ern markeL Mr. Parker, manager, is known as ono of the most successful canners of northern Utah and his name lends encouragement en-couragement to the belief that the Industry In-dustry will prosper. |
