April 30. -Christian Riis, an enemy alien who has been in the internment camp at Fort Douglas, has been temporarily paroled from that institution upon orders of United States Attorney General Gregory. Riis, it is said, is an expert manufacturer manufac-turer of surgical instruments, and it is understood here that he is to be used for this work in the east. He Is on his way to New York to report to the United States district attorney there for assignment to duty. Riis, who has been in the local Internment In-ternment camp several months, was arrested while attempting to cross the border into Mexico. He was on his way from New Orleans and, according to his story, endeavoring to get into Mexico to take a job in connection connec-tion with the manufacture of surgical instruments in that country. Wrilliam Wagner, head waiter at Talt's noted San Francisco restauranl. has been ordered sent to Fort Doug las for internment as a dangerous enemy en-emy alien, according to information received re-ceived from the Golden Gate city. Wagner is alleged to have denounced de-nounced the Liberty loan and preeipi-tated preeipi-tated a near riot on Powell street, in which he was roughly handled.
