Show WILLARD FULTON CONTEST MM BE BROUGHT TO OGBEN BY OGDEN HORSE SALE COMPANY That the Willard -Fulton boxing contest for the heavyweight championship cham-pionship of the world will be staged ,n Ogden on the Fourth of July now terms more certain than It did when negotiations were first opened about three weeks aeo by Otto Meek and H. V. Dunn of the Ogden Horse Sale company. The two stock men announced last nlpht that they have received ord from Col J C Miller, who controls the championship match, that he is ready to talk business with them on the proposition of staging the big event in Ogden. They stated that they would got busy at once and try to make all the necessary arrangements for staging the contest, realizing that it is one of the best opportunities the state of Utah has had for some time to Show a real live action. The event j will bring people here from all parts of the United States, and Utah will have an opportunity to show what is in the state that should attract more people and more big business concerns con-cerns to establish themselves here. In making the announcement. Mr. Dunn said: "We are not fight promoters and wp are not trying to bring the fight here as a money-making proposition. Our sole aim is to secure for Ogden and the state the great amount of advertising adver-tising that will naturally result if the titular bout Is put on here. Further, we agree to turn over every dollar that may be derived from the match to any charitable or war activity that may ' be named by the local sports writers I and we will pay the contestants In Liberty bonds, a stipulation which both Willard and Fulton have agreed to accept. We have the bonds and we have the necessary money to go through with the deal. In our opinion this 16 the greatest advertising opportunity oppor-tunity ever presented to the city. We are willing to wager that we can secure se-cure the contest." |
