Show oo French Instructors And U. S. Sergeant Drown in Stream DEMING. N. M., July 27 Two French officers, Lieutenant Jegou and Lieutenant Herbert, instructors nt Camp Cody and Sergeant Picard of tho American army were drowned last night A body identified as that of Sergeant Ser-geant Picard, driver of tho automo- bile, was found near tho overturned automobile on tho edge of and arroyo. Another body was found seven miles down the stream from the car. The full names of the French officers offi-cers are JLieutenant Fernaud Herbert and, Lieutenant Jean Jegou, and that of the American sergeant. Ernest Picard, Pi-card, it was. announced at Camp Cody. Plcard's home was Worcester, Mass. Lieutenant Jegou was instructor in bombing. Their car ran Into a flood' ed arroyo south of Silver City on road botween Tyrone and Doming. The car was carried down stream thirty yards and dropped into the canyon upside down. The bodies of Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Herbert and Jegou were found later burled in the sand. FORT WORTH, Tex., July 27. Fly-iiir Fly-iiir Cadet Fred C. Camnbell Jr.. whose home is Rosedale, Kan., was killed this morning when his plane dropped into a tail spin at a low altitude. He was twenty-sL years old. His father lives at Browning, Mont. |
