Show WOOD'S STATEMENT DECLARED ABSURD Washington, Jan 5. R. W Boiling, member of F. A. Connolly & Com pany. made a statement declaring that he had no knowledge of the peace note and characterizing Represent a-tive a-tive Wood's statement as absurd. Lamson Brothers Deny Story. Chicago, Jan. 5. Leslie Gates, one of the members of the firm of Lamson Lam-son Brothers company, brokers, when told of Representative Wood's testimony in the peace note investigation investiga-tion said that neither the firm nor any of Its members had ever sent out word that the president was about to ' send out a peace note and had no advance information on the subject. Otto H. Kahn Denies. New York, Jan. 5. Otto H. Kahn of Kuhn, Loeb and company, has tele-graphed tele-graphed Representative Henry, deny-Ing deny-Ing that he had any advance informa-tion informa-tion on the peace note and demanding that he be given a hearing before the UM committee. Bernard Baruch Sends Message. Charlseton, S. C, Jan. 5.
