Ogden's patriotic parado this evening even-ing at 7 o'clock will not include any suggestion of commercialism, according accord-ing to an order issued to all concerned today by General Chairman Charles C. Richards and Grand Marshal Fred G. Taylor. "The parado will be due to genuine, gen-uine, unrestricted, spontaneous enthusiasm en-thusiasm for patriotic action," said Judgo Richards. "It will be made up of people devoted to this country, whether native or foreign born, with mind and soul centered upon telling all the world that tho State of Utah, and Ogden and Weber county in particular, par-ticular, are whole-heartedly supporting support-ing the national government in any action it may take to uphold the honor hon-or of the country." Colonel P. A. Dix- has claimed tho honor of serving as chief color-bearer at tho head of the parade. Soul-Stirrlng Flag. One soul-stirring feature of the great parade will be a shell-torn battle-flag, one of tho raro and priceless few, which was carried through the thunders and terrors of the battles of Shilob, Lookout Mountain and Gettys- burg by the heroes of tho Thirty-eighth Thirty-eighth infantry. It Is a treasure owned own-ed by Albert W. Hadley, bequeathed to him by his uncle, the gallant Major Russell. Mr. Hadley will carry the flag himself. him-self. The Spirit, of '76. Typifying tho never-dying spirit of tho American Revolution, Chaplain Al M. White of Dix-Logan Post of the G. A. R., will carry an army musket that was used by ono of George Washington's Wash-ington's valiant soldiers on many a bloody field in the strugglo for our liberties. The musket also was loaned loan-ed for this occasion by Mr. Hadley. The rifle brigade, organized by He-ber He-ber Scowcroft, Jr., will be a feature of the parade. Soveral other new features wero being arranged by committeemen com-mitteemen this afternoon. Hyrum S. Wright, honored veteran of tho Mormon battalion, will serve as drummer.
