Show DEMOCRATS ARE 10 HOLD A CAUCUS Salt Lake, .Tan. 4. For the purpose of getting bettor acquainted and discussing dis-cussing patronage during the coming session of the legislature, members of the lower house from Salt Lake county caucused last night at the New-house New-house hotel. While a number of applications ap-plications for positions as employees in the legislature were reported to have been indorsed the names of those recommended were not announced. No action was taken at the caucus as to what candidate the Salt Lake county delegation would support for speaker of the house. No distinct views on the speakership were presented pre-sented other than that the candidate supported must be heartily in sym patby with all th policies outlined in the Democratic and Progressive state platforms. The caucus of the members of the lower house at which lh speakership candidates and employees of that branch of the legislature will be nom. mated will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow tomor-row afternoon at the Newhouse hotel The senatorial caucus will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the same place and at the same time a meeting of the members of the irrigation irri-gation and reservoirs committee will be held A meeting of the general legislative committee has ben called by State Chairman .Mathonihah Thomas for 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Newhouse hotel At this meeting all the subcommittees will be expected to present their reports and recom mend ji ions. |
