Show Minnow TO MILEAGE OF TIRES Motorists are rapidly coming to realize re-alize the important part which the tread of the automobile tire plays m motoring. According to J. G Read of ' tho J. G. Read & Bros. Co., local distributors dis-tributors for the Racine Country Road tires, automobilo owners in this city have displayed more interest in tread selection this year than in any tire-buying tire-buying season past. "We are pleased to see the unusual interest which motorists arc displaying display-ing in the matter of tire treads," he says. It is an easy matter to produce a non-skid tread that will in a large measuro pro-vent pro-vent skidding, but it is another thing entirely to produce a non-skid tread which, in addition to minimizing tho danger of side slipping, will not stick to the road, thereby causing an added resistance for the engine to overcome. It is actually a fact that many of the so-called non-skid treads cut down the per gallon mileage to a considerable extent." |
