Show uu I MEDALS OFFERED i TO JUNIOR GUARDS Yesterday evening the Junior Home Guards held their regular drill In the Fifth ward hall, in preparation for the patriotic parade In which they will participate tonight. Tho drill was conducted by non-commissioned officers offi-cers of the Ogden High school cadet battalion, to whom James Cleary of the Ogden postoffice department recently re-cently turned over the work. Mr. Cleary was drillmaster from the tlmo the guard was organized from Robert E. Wilson's band of boy scouts until tho High school officers took charge and to stimulate continued interest among the boys ho has now placed two gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal in competition for superior su-perior perfection in the manual of arms. One of the gold medals will be given giv-en to tho captain of the best drilled troop, the.other to the sergeant of the best drilled squad; the silver medal to the best drilled private and the bronzo medal to the most efficient bugler. S. cadet battalion is as follows: Company A Captain, W. W. Bowman; Bow-man; second lieutenant, S. Plngree; first sergeant, Frank Pingroo; quartermaster quar-termaster sergeant, Albert Huss; left guide, Homer Eccles. Company B Captain, James John-sen; John-sen; first lieutenant, W. Ogden; quartermaster quar-termaster sergeant, A. Liablo; left guide, J. Macbeth. Company C Captain, Edmund Wood; quartormaster sergeant, H. Peddelar; right guide, R. Rollands. Company of battalion Major, W. W. Bowman; second lieutenant (Q. M.), Ronald Gallagher; captain adjutant, adju-tant, James Littlonold; captain's aide, Bert Blackman. |
