"The pm Legislature" Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Ballif "Early Education in Utah" Mrs. Horace Garner. As the concluding feature a patriotic scene was enacted. Eleanor Bingham Hodgson told the story of "The Star Spangled Banner" and the assembly then sang it with, much vigor. Refreshments were served after the meeting and a social hour closed the I afternoon very pleasantly. Camp Jane Richards of the Daughters Daugh-ters of Pioneers met at the home of Mrs. Mary Parker, 177 North Washington Wash-ington avenue, with twenty ladles present pres-ent After the program a social hour was enjoyed and a delicious luncheon served by the hostess, assisted by her mother, Mrs. Phelps of Montpelier, Idaho, Ida-ho, who has been vis'iting with her daughter the past tfive months. During Dur-ing the social hour several musical selections se-lections were given and thoroughh enjoyed en-joyed by all present. Mrs. Sadie West was the visiting member of the board present Company C held a delightful meeting meet-ing at the home of Mrs. Clarence H Packer, 478 Twenty-eighth street, with Mrs. Dr. Baker presiding and Mrs. Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Goddard visiting board member present A biography of the life of Mrs. Mary Leatham was read by Mrs. Fred King, I followed by a piano solo bv Miss Frances Fran-ces Marsh. Mrs. Castle 'Murphy delighted de-lighted those present with a song and: Myrtle Larson gave a paper entitled ' Early Legislature " A letter received py one of the members from Mrs. Lot-! tie Stahr, first captain of the compa-! ny. who is visiting in Los Angeles, ! ! was read. Company C was renamed, Mary B. Brown company In honor of I one of the first women to arrive in Utah. A pleasant, feature of the meeting was the service of refreshments bv the hostess. Eight visiting members were present at this meeting. FAREWELL PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Wilson entertained en-tertained a number of their lriends on Thursday evening of this week at their home on Washington avenue. The affair af-fair was given in compliment to Mrs Wilson's mother, Mrs. Mary E. Drake, Who will leave on April 6 for a short I visit to her old home in Denver, Colo. Mrs. Drake has been in Ogden the past ten months. During the evening games and music mu-sic were enjoyed and the hostess served refreshments, the tabled being decorated in Easter stylo with flowers and favors. Pan field and Mr. and Mrs. Jones of Ma-lad. Ma-lad. Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs Earl Mc-Entire Mc-Entire of Holbrook. Idaho. TEETOTUM CLUB The "Factotum" Card club met Friday Fri-day with Mr. and Mrs. Welch at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist. An enjoyable evening was spent by all. The first prizes were carried away by Mrs Pecklnpaugh and Mr. Thiol ; the second going to Mrs. Decker and Mr. Burk. |
