Show IM DRAMATIC CLUB'S PLAYLET i The Eleventh Ward Hratnatic club scored a big success last night in a I production of the four act comedy playlet, "Betty's Perplexities." The play was staged in the ward hall, un der the direction of T. Earl Pardoe and was enjoyed by an almost capacity ca-pacity audience. Particularly good work was done by Bessie Peterson as "Bctl" and William J Critchlow, Jr., as Lord Bantock. both displaying excellent ex-cellent speaking voices and an appreciable apprec-iable knowledge of histrionic requirements. require-ments. Others in the cast, who handled their roles with good effect were Blanch Welsh, Mina Shurtz. Rhea Pur-niss. Pur-niss. Lucille Johnson. Beatrice Lee, Henry J. Wat kins, Earl Furniss. Hob j jil A. Hunter, and Robert Wilson The following girls also won praise for their charm of person and naive acting: Helen Mack, Ruth Tanner, Mabel Millar, Leona Revor, Myrtle Herrlck. Mary Critchlow. Maude Paine. Christine Hunter, Alice Lee and Phyllis Wilson. The play will be repeated tonight. |
