Show LADIES GUESTS OF HS GLASS I I The ladies of the Methodist Episcopal Epis-copal church were guests of the men's bibl class last night at a banquet in Kennedy's cafeteria. A finely ap pointed menu was enjoyed and. as a special feature of the occasion, Dr. J. II N Williams, pasior of tho church al Salt Lake City, delivered a lecture, Cntitled "Lest We Forget." The theme of the lecture was sug-I sug-I gested by Kipling's poem, and the speaker said that humanitv has come j out of a long past He declared that civilization and Christianity were not failures, but that they lways seemed ! abole to bring order out of chaos. I He also predicted that England and .Germany would again be friends and j cited several instances when a similar 1 condition had been brought about be tweon nations unfriendly to each ot li er "Because we come out of a great I past," he said, "we are inheritors of : ' a great task. One generation begins and another finishes, as in the ease of I the Panama canal France and her j engineers propected that enterprise, lit remained for another nation and, 'another generation to finish the task " |
