The question of making Monticello, the old home of Thomas Jefferson near Charlottesville, Va., the property prop-erty of the United States govorn-piexit, govorn-piexit, is again being considered by congress. The house is now owned oy former Congressman Jefferson Levy of New York He will not turn it over to the government unless compelled to do so. Mrs. William Cumming Story, president of the D. A R., is leading a campaign under un-der the auspices of that organization to induce congress to make the necessary neces-sary appropriation. |
