First Congressional and Second Congressional Congres-sional committees, met on the roof garden of the Hotel Utah, in Salt Lake this morning, and the state committee commit-tee selected Ogden as the place where the k Republican state convention to name a governor and other state candidates can-didates shall be held the first week in August. I The resignation of C. H. LooBe as state chairman was tendered, and accepted ac-cepted after Mr. Loose made it plain that he would insist on immediate action. ac-tion. At first there was a strong sentiment in (favor of refusing to allow al-low Mr. Loose to resign, but the chair man's manifest firmness caused the committeemen to regretfully accept the resignation. The two congressional committees deferred making a call until the meeting meet-ing in Provo, when the dates for the congressional nominations will be fixed. |
