Show I uu AMERICANS GO TO ILIEVEJOLAND Succor for Polish People Equally as Urgent as It Is in Belgium. Berlin, via The Hague and Iondon, Jan. 13, 10:55 a. in Dr. WIckllffc Rose and Ernst Bicknell, national director of the American Red Cross mission, depart today for Poland where succor for the civil population Is equally as urgent as it is in Belgium. It appears that the Inhabitants of the cities are particularly distressed, according to information received by Messrs. Rose and Bicknell, as all of the Polish industries in-dustries are at a standstill, while the importation of foodstuffs has ceased since the outbreak of hostilities, owing ow-ing to the military' requirements and the destruction of railroads. The Americans will be accompanied by Dr. Theodore Lewald, director of the ministry of the Interior, and will visit Czenstochou a, Lodz, Liowlcz, Skierniewice and other cities In Poland. |
