Show TRAIIOAD OF BEETS C0I1 NORTH EACH DAY Reports from the field department of the Amalgamated Sugar company are to the effect that beet digging in the Ogden district is progressing rapidly, and that the crop will be harvested at an early date. The ton-nago ton-nago for the year will be considerably heavier than In previous years. It Is estimated that the farmers of the Ogden district are digging an average of about 4000 tons of beets a day and a train load Is shipped from this district to the Logan factory fac-tory each day. Because ot a scarcity of cars for transportation purposes, beets are being piled at North Ogden, Hot Springs, Wlllard, Nerva and Three-mile. Weather conditions are Ideal for beet digging and such conditions have prevailed since the first order for digging beets was given. The farmers farm-ers are taking advantage ot the good weather in aa effort to harvest their beets before frost enters tho ground, and the sugar company is aiding them by allowing the piling beets In districts dis-tricts where transportation facilities are inadequate. |
