The farmers farm-ers and housekeepers of southern Idaho will assemble at Pocate)Io for the week of January 31 to February I at the Idaho Technical institute. This is the first meeting of this character char-acter to gather in this part of the state. It will be conducted under the auspices of the agricultural extension department of the Idaho Technical institute, in-stitute, the University of Idaho and the United States department of agriculture. agri-culture. There will be a series of lectures by the highest authorities in their respective re-spective subjects obtainable and it promises to be a rare treat, both from the intellectual and practical standpoints. stand-points. Governor Alexander will be present and deliver an address, as will Professor WIdtsoe and Dr. Titus of the Utah Agricultural college. Dr. Edward O. Slsson, state commissioner of education, and several other distinguished distin-guished educators and agricultural specialists will be in attendance. Professor F. R. Marshall, one of the greatest living authorities on sheep, will be present with his interesting sheep train. Professor Marshall will represent the United States department depart-ment of agriculture. He will deal with farm management, and Professor Ri-bold Ri-bold with dairy management. Tho we6k will be given over to lectures, demonstrations and a display of the results of experimentation and research re-search along the lines of home and farm management Elaborate preparations prepa-rations are being made to entertain the visitors. 00 |
