I Stratford of the Ogden stake, and i I Oscar Klrkham, field secretary of the I Mutual Improvement associations of jm the Mormon church, were visitors this morning at tho Weber academy as- seuibly , The fpature of the program was an j address by Mr Kirkham. in which the students were given some excellent excel-lent Instruction along the lines of l school social acthltles and athletiCR. 1 m In addition to the discussion of these if subjects, Mr Klrkham reviewed tho Ftory of Richard Wagner's opera ' Parsifal' as he witnessed It from the kaiser's box. at the Wagnerian trienter in Bayreuth. Germany, while he was studying In Germany. In relation re-lation to the review, he told a story of ? fellow schoolmate, whose life ; had held a similar aim as that of the I youth "Parsifal." and which had been beautiful example of a a steadfast I purpose of rlgh'eousnpsn, regardless J of the difficulties that lay In hie path. j The Rtudents displayed deep inter-est inter-est in the story' The assembly wa3 also favored with several tpnor soIob nicely sung by Douclas Brian, a former student of the academy. New and old students continue to register and, by the end of the week, I it ir. expected that th enrollment will ! reach its normal number j oo i |
