Show CATHOLICS MEEtT IN BALTIMORE T " Appeal Made for Catholics to Take Initiative for Establishing Estab-lishing World Peace. Baltimore, Sept. 28 The actual wcrl of the 13th annual convention here of the American Federation of C tttholic societies began this morning when President Charles I. Dentchaud presented his report. He said the Catholic world looked to the assemblage that represented three million members of Catholic societies so-cieties for leadership and counsel. "The Catholics of these United States should take the Initiative for the creation of fostering of concerted action for world peace," said Mr Denechaud. "Public sentiment should be quickened and congress importuned to cause this nation to make the first overtures for a serious, sincere and lasting agreement among the peoples of the world for international peace." Referring to "accredited reports of cruelties perpetrated by some Mexican Mexi-can authorities on defenseless priests and nuns," President Denechaud said, "the Federation must raise its Indignant Indig-nant protest at this inhuman persecution perse-cution and respectfully request the government to secure full explanation explana-tion and reparation for the indignities and ntrocities committed and for property despoiled.-' oo |
